How to maintain your used car?

Japan is a source of automobile industry and Japanese vehicles are known for their dependability and strength. Even though Japanese vehicles are high on quality, safe and built on latest technology, but they too need to be looked after some time or the other. Not only used vehicles, but new vehicles also need to be taken care from time to time to keep them fit and performing for a long time without trouble. Experts hand on vehicles is necessary to detect any flaws. Little care and good handling can keep them going for years without complaint.

Little negligence in the maintenance can lead to a collapse or breakdown of the vehicle. So, here are some tips for car care that saves money and frequent visits to workshop-

• Read the User Handbook: Owner should carefully read the user handbook or manual to know the car from within. This will help to detect and solve minor troubles. Keep it handy for reference again.
• Annual visit to service station: Annual service of the car is important as through checking of every part, not only performance of the car increases, but assures safety too. Take your car to your nearest registered service station. At the authorized company outlets, the car is attended by trained mechanics and there one can easily buy any new part from the workshop without being worried about originality and quality.
• Oil-Change at regular intervals: Every brand provide a time/distance bound oil-change schedule, so changing of the engine oil time to time is very important for the engine and the parts of the engine lubricated. The lubrication increases life and saves wastage of fuel and environment too. With every change of the oil, also change the oil filter.
• Maintain a Service Record book: It is good to keep the service record book as it contains the details of service dates, change of parts, change of oil, any problems solved at workshop etc. This will help you understand the needs and how to fix the problems with experience.
• Check the Fluid Levels: For assured high performance and long life of your Japanese used cars, you should keep checking and maintaining fluid levels such as transmission fluids, coolant fluid and fluid level of the battery. Record the change dates in record book and then you can make a schedule yourself to tune your car.
• Check Tire Pressure and Alignment: The proper alignment of wheels and correct pressure of the tires are very essential for the performance and life of the vehicle. They should be checked weekly if possible. If find some imbalance get it fixed to avoid further damage.
• Check the Brakes: The brake pads of the vehicle should be checked and replace when required. It is important to have perfectly fine brakes for the safety of not only vehicles but also passengers, so never delay or ignore.
• Drive with aim to save fuel: This will give you amazing results for sure, great mileage, smooth moving car, with lots of money saved on fuel and workshop bills.
• Wash the car: Occasionally wash your car with pressure, apply car polish and sparkle it. Vacuum clean the interiors and change the mates if required. The cleaning of the car will indeed be a good exercise for you.
• Keep the car in garage if possible: The continuous exposure of car to the Sun may fade its exterior color and luster. So, try keeping it inside the garage to retain its color.
