Import rules and regulations for Japanese used vehicles in Mauritania


Mauritania, a country in the western region of the African continent import large numbers of vehicles from Japan. Japan is the biggest exporter of used vehicles in the world. However, duty free importation of used vehicles is allowed for vehicles imported on a temporary basis. VAT is also levied on vehicles imported in the country.

Shipping Port:-

The common shipping ports in Mauritania are Port of Nouakchott, Port of Nouadhibou. There are two shipment methods for shipping used vehicle in the country. Generally, RoRo (Roll-on Roll-off) shipment method is used for vehicle shipment. However, on request of customers, more expensive yet safe method of shipment, container shipment method is used.
