Import rules and regulations-
The Japanese automobile industry is one of the largest and prominent automobile industries in the world. Large numbers of vehicles are produced and exported from Japan every year. Not only new vehicles, large numbers of used vehicles are also exported from Japan. Malta, an archipelago of coralline limestone import many used vehicles from Japan within a year. However, to import the vehicle smoothly, the importer must abide by certain import regulations.

The country permits importation of only right-hand drive vehicles.

Restriction:-
Used vehicle imported in the country should be roadworthy.

Vehicle Importation:-
Returning citizens or permanent residents are allowed to import one vehicle. Temporary residents can import one used vehicle which has been in their possession for at least six months; however it is dutiable. Vehicles must be registered in owner’s name for at least six months regardless of status.
