Africa the Largest Market for Japanese Used Vehicles

In the year 1994, Africa emerges as an independent continent. In terms of area it is the world’s second-largest and second-most-populous continent. Many democratic nations were supporting the newly independent countries to establish control and stability to plan further growth. Japan played a significant role in the development and growth of Africa since the establishment of full diplomatic relations between Japan and South Africa 1992. Japan became the leading provider of developmental aid and advocated the African development through the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) to accelerating Africa's growth and reducing poverty and vulnerability.

Africa has been one of the leading importers of Japanese used vehicles be it cars, trucks, buses, SUVs, mini trucks, vans construction and agricultural machineries since decades. They trust the Japanese made vehicles more than anything. Used vehicles from Japan are almost new and very low in price.

Thousands of used vehicles from Japan are imported to African countries whether big or small. Africa imported more than 156,000 vehicles in 2008, 189,000 in year 2010 this further increased to 190,000 in 2011 and expected to cross 200,000 by the end of 2012. Import of new and used vehicles is expected to go up with the growth of GDP in African countries.

Japanese used car exporters have been exporting best quality vehicles to almost all the major countries in Africa. In countries like South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and many others all streets are full of Japanese vehicles of all sizes. These exporters are also trying to make the Japanese used cars auction system more user-friendly to support buyers for easy and fast delivery of best quality used cars as per import regulations in Africa.

Africa with 60% of cultivable land unused is focused to bring about an agricultural revolution and shine as the major exporter of foods in coming years. This is a good opportunity to provide employment, and use the major resource in best way. This will also be favorable for exporters of agricultural machinery from Japan. African governments or the farmers can import best quality; high technology used agricultural machinery and equipments from Japan at really low price.

Today, Africa is considered one of the largest and fast growing markets for almost everything, due to its large population which is growing in number and income as well. Africa is expected to grow economically and infrastructural by many folds in the next few years. Trade between Africa and the rest of the world has increased by 200 percent since 2000. With growth in the income of people and better infrastructure demand for more vehicles will arise and for sure their first choice will be Japanese used vehicle as they are cheap, most durable, high in technology and easy to maintain in any weather conditions and eco- friendly too. Thus, it gives surety to Japanese exporters that they will have great business in the African countries for a long time.
